Jive is from The Philippines and Joe from America. They had been living in Turkey for a while, and decided to get married here before they move to Southeast Asia. I had the pleasure to photograph their Istanbul elopement, thousands of miles away from their home towns and families. It was a very small an intimate wedding. Other than the wedding officiants, they only had four close friends (and a toddler) to witness and celebrate with them.
Eloping in Istanbul is a good idea for couples who prefer a city elopement. It offers many options in terms of venues and services. For their ceremony venue, Jive and Joe picked Gezi Hotel in the heart of Taksim. Bride and groom had their preparations in seperate rooms at the hotel.
Their close friends were also there to help. One of them had a lovely child, who did not seem to care much about the elopement.
When the officiant arrived with his assistant, the ceremony began in the hotel room. After the ceremony, we went to the nearby Japanese restaurant at Grand Hyatt for elopement dinner.
That intimate night among friends ended with laughters and happy memories. I wish Jive and Joe a happy life together. Wherever the life takes them to.
