Each year I get contacted by many couples who are visiting Turkey, to do a couple photoshoot in Istanbul. Some of them want this as a pre-wedding session, and some want this just to have beautiful memories from their trip. Karen and Kanda were one such couple. They were from China, and they wanted a photo session while they were exploring the city.
You can read about the details about this kind of photoshoots at the end of this page, after the photos.
For our consultation meeting, I met Karen and Kanda at their hotel. My consultation meetings serve two purposes. First, it lets us to get to know each other better, and second, it helps us decide on the location, based on their preferences.
On the day of the shooting, I took Karen and Kanda to Sultanahmet, as planned, and we started our photoshoot there. Normally the Istanbul couple photoshoots that I do with my foreign clients, also turn out to be a small walking tour. While walking between the landmarks, we usually talk about the places that we come accross, or they ask for some local advice for the rest of their stay, or the Turkish daily life. I photograph them naturally while they are enjoying the place. It is more like a local friend showing them around, rather than a photo session.
The questions they ask, or the interests that they express, shape the details of our route. This way, each one of my couples get different photographs, even from the same location. To see what I mean, you can check out another couple photoshoot in Istanbul that I did with a different couple here.
